Subject: Boletin Informativo Caverna de Chac Mool

AVISO IMPORTANTE PARA BUZOS DE CAVERNA Y CUEVA
El dia de ayer hubo un colapso en el techo de la caverna de Chac
Mool en la seccion de rio arriba (upstream). Actualmente el Comite
de Oficiales de Seguridad ha enrutado la linea fuera de la zona del
colapso pero el area en general permanence inestable y recomendamos
que se suspendan los tours de
caverna en esta seccion especifica hasta que se estabilice un poco
la zona ya que es probable que otros pequeqos colapsos se presenten.
La seccion de Kukulkan y la seccion rio abajo (downstream) no fueron
afectadas y recomendamos que los buceos en caverna sean limitados a
estas dos secciones. El tunel que conduce a la seccion rio
arriba (upstream) de la cueva tampoco fue afectado por el colapso.
Los mantendremos informados si se hara algun cambio a la
configuracion de la linea de caverna en esta zona.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL CAVERN & CAVE DIVERS
Yesterday a ceiling collapse took place in the upstream section of
the cavern zone at the Chac Mool System. At this time the QRSOC has
re routed the line away from the collapsed area but the area
surrounding the collapse appears to be quite unstable and we are
recommending that no cavern tours
should be conducted in the upstream area until the cave becomes more
stable as it is likely that other small collapses could take place.
The Kukulkan section and Downstream area are not affected and we
strongly recommend limiting cavern dives to these 2 areas. The
tunnel leading to the upstream
cave area is also not affected by this collapse. We will keep you
updated if any changes will take place to the lay out of the line in
this section.
