Florida Exploration: Notes from an Outsider
Many people prefer to stay on the beaten track, sticking with the caves that they know best. For a small group, there is always the call of the unknown, the mystique of being in a place that no human has ever been in before. Unfortunately, such places are getting harder and harder to find - and they're particularly hard if you aren't a "local" who lives in the area. Andrew will present on the topic, focusing on a) how to find unexplored caves, b) the trade-off between safety and the exploration process, and lessons learned, and c) a discussion of some footage of rarely seen sections of cave.

Weeki Wachee Springs Documentary Project
This year Liquid Productions joined Karst Underwater Research and captured never before seen video of the ongoing exploration project at Weeki Wachee Springs. The challenges of shooting inside of this cave were like no other we've experienced. Skilled teams of 13+ divers had to fight through the vicious entrance and exit flow, and deep depths just to take the necessary video equipment into the cave days before shooting could begin. Unique planning was involved due to the possibility of failure each time,  lighting the enormous cave system, deep depths along with long deco and the unpredictable entry. The rain came back again in early May making the system undivable for the team, it could be next year or 20 years before our cameras venture inside of Weeki again.
